Localization of technical knowledge for casting 42-inch centrifugal pumps in the oil industry

According to Energy Press, citing the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, Fereydoun Fayazi Borujeni stated: “In line with the Ministry of Oil’s major policies of supporting domestic manufacturing and maximizing the technical and engineering capabilities of Iranian companies, Matan Company was able to fully localize the technical knowledge of casting the bodies of centrifugal pumps with a size of 42 inches and a working pressure of 37 bars in the West Karun oil transmission pipeline project.”
He added: “This achievement is the result of trust in the capabilities of domestic knowledge-based companies and the result of the technology development approach in national oil industry projects.”
The executor of the Gore-Jask crude oil pipeline construction project stated that within the framework of this project and under the supervision of a consulting company, a BB1 type pump made of ASTM A216 WCB was designed and manufactured in the country in accordance with the requirements of the API 610 standard. He said: “Indigenizing this strategic equipment, in addition to preventing the outflow of foreign exchange, is an important step in achieving the goals of a resilient economy, industrial self-sufficiency, and technological development in the country’s oil industry.”
