Iran’s last warning to Pakistan for the gas pipeline, we complain and ask for compensation
High-ranking Pakistani official sources said that Iran has sent its last warning to Pakistan that Tehran has no option but to file a complaint against Pakistan to the Paris Arbitration Court for not building and completing the Iranian gas import pipeline by September this year (until this fall).

According to Energy Press, this project, which was supposed to be implemented in 2014, has been delayed for 10 years due to the US sanctions against Iran.
The 25-year contract to buy Pakistan gas from Iran through a pipeline was signed in 2009 based on French laws, and the arbitration court based in Paris is the place of arbitration and decision on disputes between the two countries. The French arbitration court does not recognize the US sanctions.
Iran and Pakistan signed a revised agreement in September 2019, according to which Iran pledged not to refer to the international court for the delay in the construction of the pipeline on the Pakistani side, on the condition that the Pakistani side completes its pipeline up to the Iranian border by 2024. slow
Pakistan also committed to complete its pipeline by 2024 and then receive 750 million cubic feet of gas per day from Iran.
Iran gave the last warning to Pakistan: we will file a complaint and demand compensation
According to the revised agreement, Pakistan was obliged to complete a part of the pipeline in its territory by February and March 2024, and when the pipeline was not completed, Iran again gave Pakistan a deadline of 180 days until September 2024 (early Mehr 1403). complete and finalize; But with the expiration of this 6-month period and the lack of serious progress in the construction of the pipeline, Iran sent its last warning to the Pakistani side and announced that it will use its right to complain to the Paris Arbitration Court.
If Iran does not exercise its right to file a complaint at the Paris Arbitration Court by September 2024, it will lose its right to start a legal battle against Pakistan.
Iran had earlier issued its second legal notice to Pakistan in November-December 2022, asking Pakistan to construct part of the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project on its soil by February-March 2024 or be prepared to pay a fine of 18 billion.
