Iran’s gasoline is smuggled to Afghanistan / a decision will be made on the price of gasoline in March

According to Energy Press, these days gasoline has become a hot topic in the country’s news. Some experts talk about its cheap price and smuggling to neighboring countries, many others believe that according to the per capita income of the Iranian people and the inflation rate, the price of gasoline in the country is not cheap. Hadi Beginejad, a member of the 11th Parliament’s Energy Commission, in an interview with “Energy Press”, ruled out the possibility of an increase in the price of gasoline this year and said: I assure the people that the increase in the price of gasoline is not defined in the 1402 budget. Therefore, the price of gasoline will definitely not be expensive this year.
The member of the country’s oil contract implementation committee continued: We will make a decision regarding the increase in gasoline prices for next year in the budget of 1403, this decision will be made in March.
The representative of the people of Malair in the parliament said the following about the reason for gasoline dissatisfaction in the country: When a new refinery is not built and the price of gasoline is cheap, there is a dissatisfaction in consumption. Because the fuel is either smuggled or used for non-fuel consumption.
Biginejad stated: For example, gasoline can be added to other hydrocarbons, and they are currently doing this inside the country and exporting hydrocarbon cuts to Afghanistan. Or they combine it with something else and change its evaporation point and density and it turns into another product. Then they claim that they produced it themselves. While we know that they have misused it and are using it in other units.
A member of the country’s oil contract enforcement board considered the price of gasoline to be cheap and said about the increase in the price of gasoline: Of course, deciding on the price of gasoline should be a comprehensive decision. Part of the problem of high gasoline consumption is related to its low price, part is related to reducing consumption, another part is related to refinery production, and part is related to non-price and management policy discussion. All these things have joined hands and brought the work here.
The Vice Chairman of the Parliament’s Energy Commission added: 60 to 70 percent of people in the society use this gasoline. Some use more and some use less. Let’s have a thought for those who consume little and think of a plan for those who consume a lot. We should check all these things in a package format.
Beginejad said about the government’s withdrawal from the feed rate approvals for petrochemicals: if the government reduces or increases it, it will cause harm and trouble. We must also think about its damages, the petrochemical complex that receives gas at a reasonable price and produces goods must change its behavior, but this does not happen, and this is one of the damages.
