Iran’s gas export to Turkey has been stopped since July
According to Energy Press, the Statistics Center of the European Commission (Eurostat) has announced the export of nearly 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Iran to Turkey in the first eight months of 2023.
Iran has exported 3 billion and 812 million cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey in the months of January to August this year. This figure has decreased by 38% compared to the same period last year. Iran had exported 6 billion and 221 million cubic meters of gas to Turkey in the first eight months of last year.
Eurostat’s analysis of Iran’s monthly natural gas exports to Turkey shows that while Iran has exported 500 to 900 million cubic meters of gas to Turkey on average in recent years, in July 2023, gas exports will be equal to July this year. Iran has zero exports to Turkey and in August 2023, only 73 million cubic meters of natural gas were exported to Turkey.
