Iranian oil on the rise; production, export and collection of flare gases are accelerating
Explaining the most important measures taken by the Ministry of Oil last year, the Minister of Oil emphasized: The Ministry of Oil plans to accelerate measures in this field and has short-term projects carried out by the private sector, as well as long-term and infrastructure projects on the agenda.

According to Energy Press, Mohsen Paknejad, in response to the question of what plans do you have to address President Pezizkian’s request to accelerate the exploitation of flare gas collection projects? He said: “The measures in this regard will definitely be accelerated in the Ministry of Oil. The Ministry of Oil’s plans regarding flare gas collection are being pursued in two formats. First, short-term plans and second, long-term plans. Short-term plans are implemented through the transfer and utilization of associated gases by the private sector, which is carried out for the purpose of electricity generation. To create more incentive, an auction has been held and a zero base price has been considered in order to attract more participation.
He continued: “In the area of long-term plans, projects such as NGL 3100 and NGL Khark are also on the agenda, which unfortunately have not made significant progress for a long time, but in the 14th government, investment and exploitation of them are also on the agenda of the Ministry of Oil.”
The Minister of Oil also explained the measures taken by the ministry over the past year and stated: “If we want to talk based on figures and numbers, over the past year, crude oil production has increased by an average of more than 100,000 barrels per day. In the field of crude gas, i.e. gas produced in the upstream oil industry, we also saw an increase in production of more than 30 million cubic meters.”
An increase of 21,000 barrels in Iranian oil exports
Referring to crude oil sales statistics, Paknejad added: “Our exports have increased by about 21,000 barrels per day in the first four months of this year compared to the first four months of last year.”
He referred to the increase in the production of petroleum products in the 14th government and said: “In the field of oil and gas production, despite the fact that a large part of the overhaul of refineries was planned in the first half of this year, we witnessed an increase of more than 3 million liters per day. Of course, we also witnessed this increase in production in the field of gasoline production.”
