CEO of National Petrochemical Company:
Iran welcomes Russian investments for petrochemical production
According to Energy Press reporter, Morteza Shahmirzaei, deputy minister and CEO of National Petrochemical Company, told reporters today at the 17th Iran Plast Exhibition: In addition to the Saudi ambassador, the ambassadors of European countries visited the exhibition. This means that sanctions and intimidation of sanctions are no longer bought today. With the spirit that I saw today, we will go in the direction where our past cooperation with other countries will have stronger foundations in the future.
Pointing out that the dialogue with foreign countries has a clear horizon, the Deputy Oil Minister said: “It seems that we will not be influenced by ill-wishers.” The countries of Iran and Saudi Arabia have high oil, gas and petrochemical potentials and are the power of the region. We learned to stand together in a friendly way and complement each other. Some of the big licensors of the petrochemical industry today not only do not obstruct but help each other and share our strengths.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company stated: The Persian Gulf is the most important petrochemical region of Iran and the pension fund has started a very good activity as a major investor in the petrochemical industry. 12% of Persian Gulf Holding, which was sold at a high price last year and was purchased above the actual price, will be pursued in Ahvaz Holding in the future in order to help this industry to be managed by experts. Therefore, the objectives of MPC and other shareholders of Persian Gulf Holding are to achieve the long-term plans of this holding.
Regarding the selection of the board of directors of Persian Gulf Holding, the deputy oil minister said: After the assembly meeting, it will be negotiated that an expert and familiar team that can manage this large industrial fleet of the country will be considered for the holding, because our shareholders have our eyes on this. A rational and specialized team should lead the Persian Gulf Holding and avoid spur-of-the-moment decisions and make long-term decisions so that this important economic and industrial part of the country is not harmed.
He said regarding the Russians’ construction of petrochemistry in Iran: Our policy is that whoever wants to create capital for the country, we will roll out the red carpet for him. In the current situation, we have shown that we can solve our problems with each other’s help. We both buy products and export our products. Activists of the Russian chemical industry also have a chemical union, and we will have any necessary cooperation with them.
