Iran, the largest methanol exporter in the West Asian region

According to Energy Press, methanol demand in 2022 was about 92 million tons per year, which is expected to reach 110 million tons by 2030. Also, due to the growth in methanol costs and the decrease in the growth of new capacities, the price of methanol will be adjusted upwards.
Methanol, as a product based on natural gas feed, has accounted for a significant share of the production and export of petrochemical products in the country.
Currently, the methanol production capacity in the country is about 15.7 million tons per year, and with the exploitation of the ongoing projects, the production capacity of this product will increase to about 36 million tons in 1412.
