Iran emphasizes bilateral talks on Arash gas field

According to Energy Press, Esmail Baghaei today (Tuesday, June 3) rejected the claims made in the final statement of the 64th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council Foreign Ministers regarding the three Iranian islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa, and said: Iran, in line with the exercise of its sovereign rights, will take any necessary measures to ensure the security and interests of the country within the three islands, including their land, water and air. He emphasized that unfortunately, once again, the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council have repeated their baseless claims regarding the three islands without paying attention to historical and geographical realities, and stated: Although these measures do not undermine the absolute and effective sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the three islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa, they are contrary to the principles of international law in respecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
