Iran became the second largest producer of oil in the world
According to Energy Press, Iran’s crude oil and condensate production in 2023 has grown by 19% compared to the previous year and reached 3.94 million barrels per day. In the previous year, Iran had produced 3,331,000 barrels of oil per day.
The 19% growth of Iran’s crude oil and condensate production in 2023, which has been achieved despite the continuation of illegal US sanctions, is more than 13 times the average growth of world oil production this year. The total production of crude oil and condensate in the world in 2023 has reached 82,636,000 barrels per day with an increase of 1.4% compared to the previous year.
Based on this, Iran has recorded the growth of oil production among major oil producers during the last year. In fact, most of the oil producers not only did not increase production this year, but also faced a decrease in production. For example, the production of crude oil and condensate in Saudi Arabia has decreased by 8.6% in 2023. Iraq’s oil production this year decreased by 3.9%, Kuwait by 4.3%, Oman by 1.5%, UAE by 3.4%, Algeria by 3.4%, and Russia by 1.1%.
