Iran and Türkiye on the verge of extending gas contract; negotiations continue until 2026

According to Energy Press, Saeed Tavakoli stated regarding the extension of the gas export contract to Turkey: The contract with Turkey will definitely be extended.
He clarified: In general, the regional gas market has become very contingent, short-term and time-consuming, meaning that on the one hand, the amount of US LNG production has increased, and on the other hand, restrictions have been imposed on the gas exports of some countries, and on the other hand, the amount of gas available in the region has already been determined.
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company noted: Our emphasis and pursuit of long-term contracts continues, and naturally, extending the Turkish contract is one of the priorities that we are pursuing.
He emphasized: Turkey is definitely a customer of Iranian gas, and based on the request of the Turkish side and the negotiations that have taken place, we are pursuing the extension of the contract, but the amount, method and mechanism will be determined during the negotiations.
