Indonesia auctions seized Iranian oil tanker
Indonesia auctions seized Iranian supertankerBloomberg reported on the auction of a seized Iranian supertanker in Indonesia. The ship was apparently carrying Iranian oil before it was seized.

According to Energy Press, the American news agency Bloomberg reported that the Iranian supertanker Arman 114, which was seized in 2023 while trying to transfer oil to another tanker in Indonesian waters, has been put up for sale along with its oil cargo.
The starting price for the auction of this tanker, which is under US sanctions, has been announced by Indonesia at $70 million.
The Arman 114 is carrying 167,000 tons of sweet oil and its auction is being supervised by the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office. According to the terms of the auction, the buyer will pay for the maintenance and security of the ship. The winner of the bid is obliged to move the tanker within 30 days of purchase.
Ship brokers say that a new supertanker sells for about $126 million and a 15-year-old ship for $59 million, and they believe that a fair price for this supertanker is about $16 million.
