Increasing the electricity exchange between Iran and Türkiye to 500 megawatts
The CEO of Tavanir Company said: In the peak load of this summer, we should have at least 100 to 200 megawatts in order to supply the country's domestic electricity consumption, import and export electricity to Turkey during off-peak times.

According to Energy Press, Mustafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the CEO of Towani Company, said: With the construction of the Van advanced BTB substation through the Khoi-Van line, the possibility of electricity exchange between the two countries up to 600 megawatts was made possible, and considering the difference in horizons and the difference in holidays in the two countries, It was possible to exchange electricity from Iran to Turkey and vice versa and it was operationalized on a trial basis.

He continued: Now we are looking to launch the commercial phase of this energy exchange, which was finalized in the recent trip to Turkey and its steps are being followed by the private sector, which we hope will be realized in the near future. Considering the construction and completion of BTB and HVDC station in Turkey and its capacity of more than 500 megawatts, it was decided to operate the electricity exchange as soon as possible with the aim of exchanging the electricity network of the two countries through the mentioned station.
