Increasing the country’s gas production capacity with the Bilal Gas Field Development Plan
According to Energy Press, Ehsan Mohammadi, in a press conference today (Wednesday, February 25), on the sidelines of loading the source jacket of the Bilal Joint Gas Field Development Project, stated that the development of oil and gas fields on land and at sea is very different, and stated: When international conditions become difficult, the work in the offshore sector is more complicated. Stating that the Bilal Joint Gas Field has sour gas, which makes production and development work more difficult, he clarified: The first package of field development has been completed by drilling a explanatory well, and with the transfer of this jacket, the second package of work on the development of this joint field will begin. Stating that sometimes courage and experience help us do impossible things, the implementer of the Bilal Joint Gas Field Development Project added: A explanatory well has been drilled earlier with an investment of $30 million, and we are placing this jacket on the same well and on the seabed, which is a unique operation. Mohammadi, pointing out that the two companies Pars Oil and Gas and Iranian Offshore Oil are subsidiaries of the National Iranian Oil Company and are active in the offshore sector, added: Pars Oil and Gas is developing gas fields, and the Offshore is developing oil fields at sea. Stating that the Bilal field consists of two oil and gas sectors, with the exploitation of the oil sector of the field being carried out by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company and the development of the gas sector by the Pars Oil and Gas Company, he emphasized: With the full development of the Bilal gas field, 14.2 million cubic meters per day will be added to Iran’s gas production capacity, which is equivalent to the consumption of the coldest province in the country in winter. The executive of the Bilal Joint Gas Field Development Plan, pointing out that the preparations for the development of this field began by assigning the work to a general contractor in 2019, added: After that, the budget was determined and a permit was obtained from the Economic Council. The executive work of developing this field began in 2019, and now we are ready to transfer the jacket to the desired location on the Qatari border.
