Increasing the capacity of Iran’s thermal power plants to solve the electricity imbalance
The General Director of the Grand Planning Office of the Mother Specialized Thermal Power Company said: Since the beginning of the 13th government, the capacity of the country's thermal power plants has increased by about 9,000 megawatts in order to help reduce imbalances, create jobs and create sustainable electricity in the national grid.

According to Energy Press, Hadi Madghagh, Director General of the Grand Planning Office of the Mother Specialized Thermal Power Company, stated: This action will be implemented through synchronizing 46 new power plant units with a capacity of 6,584 megawatts, removing the limitation of heating power plants and increasing the practical capacity of existing gas power plants to the capacity of two 1000 MW and 380 MW of small scale units have been realized.

He continued: The new synchronized units include 32 gas units in the combined cycle power plants of Hengam, Iran LNG (three units), Qeshm Pasargard, Arian Zanjan (two units), Mehtab Kavir (two units), Shahid Bakri (two units), Turbat Haidarieh, Butia Steel, Dukohe, Mobarakeh Steel (two units), Al-Mahdi Aluminum, West Asia Steel, Sabzevar, Golghar and small gas units of Mianroud, Zahedan (three units), Sabai Dehlran (four units), Kurdistan Petrochemical (three units) and Kermanshah Petrochemical has a total capacity of 4,490 megawatts.

The General Director of the Grand Planning Office of the Thermal Power Company said: “Also, during this period, 14 steam units in the combined cycle power plants of Jahorm, Haris, Urmia (two units), Chabahar, South Pars Substation (two units), Gharb Karun, Asaluyeh, Ferdowsi, Khorram Abad, Sablan (two units) unit) and Semnan sodium carbonate with a capacity of 2,171 megawatts is connected to the country’s national electricity grid.

The auditor emphasized: These new steam units are operating without additional fuel consumption and through the exhaust heat of the previous gas unit, and the construction of these units has resulted in saving three billion and 250 million cubic meters of fuel consumption throughout the year.
