Increasing oil production in the Drood field

According to Energy Press, citing the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, Alireza Motaali stated that with the increase in water production in the Drood field and the exploitation of heavier oil layers, the necessity of gassing some wells was felt more than before, and stated: Although the main gassing project of the field is under study, with the definition of smaller projects, gassing of a number of wells had begun. However, the southern wells of the island were deprived of this possibility due to the lack of necessary infrastructure.
He added: By implementing the required routes and connections, fixing the control problems of the turbocompressors and launching emergency shutdown systems after specialized and complex repairs, this part of the project was successfully operational.
The director of the Khark operational area stated that by completing this stage and receiving the required equipment within the next three months, it will be possible to gas all six wells, and added: “Also, after carrying out the necessary repairs on the onshore gas lines and receiving an operating license, gas production in five other wells will resume in the first half of next year.”
