Increasing Iran’s oil production by developing the West Karun fields and collecting flare gases

According to Energy Press, citing the National Iranian Oil Company, with the completion of the second phase of Azadegan development, the production of this field will reach 550,000 barrels per day. In addition, the opening of the first phase of South Azadegan and the commissioning of the remaining 19 wells have resulted in an increase of 43,000 barrels per day in production, which has played an important role in increasing the country’s oil production and boosting exports.
Other important projects that have been implemented in the field of increasing oil production and realizing the development of the country’s oil fields include the official launch of the development plan for the three oil fields of Somar, Saman, and Delavaran (in the less developed areas of the west of the country), which was implemented in early February last year.
The volume of oil in place in these three fields is estimated at 410 million barrels, and it is expected that with the development of these fields over 55 months, a profit of $1.6 billion (in 20 years) will be achieved for our country.
Ahvaz Desalination Unit; Restoring Hidden Capacity
Among other notable projects in the performance record of the 14th government oil company, we can mention the inauguration of the second phase of the Ahvaz Centralized Desalination Unit by presidential decree, which will enable an increase in oil production to 110,000 barrels per day. This project was implemented with 85 percent of domestically manufactured equipment and in the first phase, increased daily crude oil production by 15,000 barrels.
Collection of Associated Gases and Attraction of Private Sector Capital
Collection of associated gasses is one of the most important projects being carried out by the oil company and the Ministry of Oil, which is closely monitored and monitored by the country’s regulatory institutions. Accordingly, and in line with the efficiency of energy resources and the reduction of flare gas burning, the National Iranian Oil Company pursued the construction of gas and liquefied gas plants with greater seriousness in the 14th government.
