Increasing electricity generation capacity in thermal power plants for the summer

According to Energy Press, citing the specialized parent company of thermal power, Abolfazl Asgari, in a planning meeting to successfully pass the summer peak of 1404, emphasized that in the first half of this year we are facing special conditions for supplying electricity to subscribers, and added: Last year, at this time, about 6,000 megawatts of hydroelectric power plants were in production, which has now reached less than 2,500 megawatts.
Stating that the Bushehr power plant is out of operation due to refueling, he continued: This year, the average temperature has increased by about 5.5 degrees compared to last year. In this context, it should be noted that for every one degree increase in temperature, while the production of power plants decreases, consumption increases by more than 1,500 megawatts.
Asgari emphasized: This year, for the first time in the history of the electricity industry, the increase in the country’s electricity consumption in Farvardin has reached double digits and reached 11 percent. Therefore, the thermal power industry is facing special conditions this year to supply electricity to subscribers and compensate for the restrictions created in other areas. The CEO of the Thermal Power Company, emphasizing that the fuel restrictions of last year’s winter had caused a partial postponement of the thermal power plant repair program, stated: In this regard, to compensate for this situation, a special program was put on the agenda to compress activities, and as a result, the volume of thermal power plant repairs in Nowruz this year exceeded 11,500 megawatts, with an increase of 60 percent compared to the same period last year.
