Incorrect energy pricing policies have reduced investment incentives

According to Energy Press, Arash Najafi, speaking at the Fourth International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Consumption Optimization and Efficiency today (Monday, December 7), criticized the inattention to consumption management in the past years and stated: “Inaction in the field of reforming the consumption pattern has caused us to be indebted not only in the fields of water and energy, but also in the macroeconomics.” Referring to the sharp increase in prices in recent years, he added: “In the past seven years, the country has experienced inflation of nearly a thousand percent; a figure that has been fully felt in many consumer goods, including food, health, treatment, and education.” The head of the Energy Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing that despite difficult conditions, Iranian industry, due to its nature, always follows the process of updating and reform, said: “Incorrect energy pricing policies have reduced investment incentives.”
