How much CNG gas is consumed daily in Iran?

According to Energy Press, Reza Nikzad, a member of the Board of Directors of Bandar CNG Association, said about the rent of CNG stations: Since the municipality or other organizations that own CNG stations, it has gone out of service and turned to income. Unfortunately, there has been no reaction from the related institutions, and therefore, the correct pricing has not been done for the positions.

He continued: “Unfortunately, some uninformed people have entered the CNG industry and impose unqualified prices, so that today this industry is not viewed positively, and the country’s CNG positions are declining, and this is a fundamental problem.” It is for our class and until today our efforts have been fruitless

Nikzad clarified: On average, the daily sales of CNG is about 20 million cubic meters, which sometimes goes up to about 24 million cubic meters, which is equivalent to 20 million liters of gasoline. Up to 45 million liters of gasoline, which is equivalent to 45 million cubic meters, in general, the production of dual-fuel vehicles can compensate for the gasoline imbalance.

The member of the Board of Directors of the CNG trade association added: Also, in the 3 months of this year, unfortunately, until today, we have had nearly 14 explosions in the case of dual-fuel vehicles, also due to the exhaustion of the tanks, and perhaps we have not had this amount of statistics in several years.

Nikzad added: In general, we have talked about converting some trucks and sometimes other cars into CNG. Generally, according to statistics, we have spent about 3 billion dollars just for importing gasoline in these three years.

He added: We have 2,500 CNG stations in the country, and about 90 percent of these stations are operating, and the renovation plan for CNG car tanks, which was approved by the Economic Council, was supposed to be one million, 500 gas cars or their tanks. It should be replaced because for some reasons, this plan did not have a good efficiency, also the car manufacturers did not perform well in the dual fueling of cars.
