Global oil shock with closing the Strait of Hormuz; no one will be immune
A Russian official warned about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz that no one will be immune from this action.

According to Energy Press, citing TASS, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Special Representative of the Russian President for Economic and Investment Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Kirill Dmitriev, warned that the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran will not spare even the United States from its consequences and will lead to a “global oil shock.”
“Oil is priced globally. If the Strait of Hormuz is closed, America will not be immune either. No one is immune from the global oil shock and fuel prices at gas stations will skyrocket,” he wrote on the social network X. On Monday, the price of Brent crude oil futures for August 2025 delivery on London’s ICE exchange rose above $81 a barrel for the first time since January 20, according to trading data.
