Getting to know one of the oldest refineries in Iran: Shiraz Oil Refinery

According to Energy Press, oil refineries in Iran are the backbone of the country’s oil product supply, and each plays a key role in providing energy and market stability. Among these complexes, Shiraz Oil Refinery, as one of the oldest refineries in Iran, has a history of more than five decades and continues to meet a significant share of the country’s oil needs.
When was Shiraz Oil Refinery established?
Shiraz Oil Refinery was established in 1960 and began its official activities in 1973. This refinery currently produces about three percent of the country’s total oil products. The production capacity of this complex is two million tons per year, and it ranks eighth among Iranian refineries in terms of production volume.
Shiraz Refinery Products and Feeds
Shiraz oil refining products include liquefied petroleum gas, regular gasoline, jet gasoline, jet oil, solvents, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, bitumen, and sulfur, which are marketed by the National Iranian Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company after conducting numerous tests and complying with national standards.
