Getting to know Iran’s petrochemical holdings; this part of the Persian Gulf
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Holding, as the second largest petrochemical holding in the Middle East and the largest player in this industry in Iran, plays a key role in meeting domestic needs and the international standing of this industry, with more than one-third of the nominal capacity of the country's petrochemical industry.

According to Energy Press, the continuation of the series “Introducing Iran’s Petrochemical Holdings” examines the position, capacities, assets and characteristics of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Holding; a huge complex that has become a symbol of Iran’s petrochemical industry, from production and product diversity to value chain integration.

33 percent of the nominal capacity of the country’s petrochemical industry is in the hands of the Persian Gulf
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Holding, as the second largest petrochemical holding in the Middle East and the largest petrochemical holding in Iran, has more than 33 percent of the nominal capacity of the country’s petrochemical industry and produces about 34 million tons of products annually. By producing 62 diverse products, this holding includes a wide range of feed and fuel, fertilizers and pesticides, aromatic products, polymers and basic products, so that almost one-third of the needs of Iran’s petrochemical industry are met through its subsidiaries.
Petrochemicals of the Persian Gulf Holding
Persian Gulf is the owner and major shareholder of many of the country’s most important petrochemical companies, including Arvand, Bandar-e-Emam, Bu-Ali Sina, Nouri, Pars, Aria-Sasol, Shahid Tondgoyan, Karun, Khuzestan, Lordegan, Gachsaran, Mehr, Ilam, Fajr, Mobin, Apadana, Hengam, Urmia, and Petrol Holding. In addition, Bid-Bland and Hoveyzeh gas refineries are also important assets of this holding, and Persian Gulf is also a shareholder of Esteghlal Club.
Ongoing Projects
In the development sector, numerous projects are on the agenda of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Holding, including Sadaf, Golestan, Dehdasht, Hormoz, Ibn-Sina, Andimeshk, Mamasani, Borujen, and Almas Mahshahr petrochemicals.
