Get to know the Persian Gulf Star Refinery, the largest gasoline producer in Iran

According to Energy Press, 25 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas, there is a huge and strategic complex that not only meets Iran’s fuel needs, but is also known as one of the largest gas condensate refineries in the world. The Persian Gulf Star Refinery, with a daily production of 42 million liters of gasoline and 14 million liters of diesel, is the main pillar of Iran’s self-sufficiency in fuel production. The Persian Gulf Star Refinery construction project was launched in 2006 with the aim of processing gas condensate from the huge South Pars field. The refinery, which receives its feed from the South Pars gas refineries through a 388-kilometer pipeline, reached full operation in 2018 with the completion of all three main phases. With a daily production of 42 million liters of gasoline and 14 million liters of diesel, Setareh Khalij Fars accounts for about 15 percent of the country’s total refining capacity and supplies more than 45 percent of Iran’s fuel basket, especially gasoline. By producing high-quality products, this refinery has played a key role in reducing the country’s dependence on fuel imports.
