Gasoline shortage crisis waiting for Iran’s 14th government?
Masoud Pezeshkian takes over the government while we have to import two billion dollars of gasoline this year. Expensive Russian gasoline will be the biggest challenge of the 14th government.

According to the report of Energy Press, according to the report of the Energy Press website, in the 13th government, Iran has turned from a gasoline exporter to a large importer and is forced to buy gasoline from Russia at a higher price than the world prices.

The issue of gasoline shortage will be a major challenge for the 14th government and the government is bound to make big decisions soon about the gasoline shortage because this challenge will affect all political, economic and social aspects of the society. While we have become importers of gasoline, the officials of the Ministry of Oil are trying to hide their shortcomings. Malik Shariati, a member of parliament who is aligned with the government, revealed in a television program that the management of gasoline consumption in the country has reached a point where we have become an importer, but they say that people should not be informed about the importation of gasoline.

Shariati emphasized that to solve the gasoline imbalance problem, the trends must be corrected. These days, the country’s gasoline consumption has exceeded 110 million liters, and this issue has caused an imbalance between the domestic production and consumption of this product, so import is the only option before the planners. The negative growth of the investment index in gasoline production refineries has caused the amount of production to remain constant and does not respond to the growth of consumption. Meanwhile, investment in the oil industry has stopped, and the government earns about 80 hemats from the sale of quota and free gasoline inside the country. Now, if he spends 24 hemats of it to import the deficit of gasoline, still around 56 hemats of the gasoline sales revenue will remain inside, which could have been used to complete the production infrastructure, but this was not the case. Although Iran has rejoined the club of gasoline importers, Javad Oji, the Minister of Petroleum, promised to export gasoline and diesel in 2022 and said: The export of oil, gas, and gasoline in the country has started in the National Company for Refining and Distribution of Petroleum Products and is ongoing. Is. Iran was an importer of gasoline in the late 1980s, but with the start of rationing and the supply of gasoline with fuel cards in 2006, we saw a significant decrease in the consumption of this petroleum product in the country.
