Gas rationing in Egypt: the first consequences of Israel’s war against Iran
Following the escalation of military conflicts between the Zionist regime and Iran and the cessation of gas production from the regime's main fields, Egypt has faced a sharp decline in gas imports and has begun rationing gas in fertilizer and petrochemical plants to deal with this crisis.

According to Energy Press, Egypt has begun rationing gas in fertilizer plants to deal with the gas shortage caused by the halt in imports from the occupied Palestinian territories.
Egypt has faced a sharp decline in gas imports following reciprocal military attacks between Israel and Iran that halted gas production from Israel’s Leviathan and Temar fields.
The gas outage has left Egypt’s national gas network with a shortage of about 850 million cubic feet of gas per day, prompting the country’s Ministry of Oil to declare a state of emergency.
Sources in the Egyptian Ministry of Oil have confirmed that the country’s Gas Holding Company has been forced to stop supplying gas to petrochemical plants for 48 to 72 hours, as this measure will save about 450 million cubic feet of gas per day, while some power plants have switched to diesel fuel to compensate for the gas shortage.
