Fines for flare gases reach $3 billion
Nearly $15 billion has been spent on increasing the pressure of the South Pars field.

According to Energy Press, at the 10th Oil and Energy Congress and the panel “Investment and Financing of Energy Infrastructure Development, Obstacles and Solutions”, Houshang Fallahtian, Deputy Minister of Planning at the Ministry of Oil, announced at the 10th Oil and Energy Congress: The pressure increase of the South Pars field will be carried out by the end of this year in the form of several contracts.

He announced that an amount of nearly $15 billion has been spent in this regard.
The Deputy Minister also stated: If the efficiency of our power plants was about 50 percent, I can say that we could produce 1.5 times the current situation and we would not be suffering from an electricity imbalance now.
Fallahian emphasized that the private sector and banks should be encouraged to invest in building power plants.
