The CEO of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company, emphasizing the pivotal role of gas in the country’s energy portfolio, said: About 74 percent of the country’s total energy consumption is gas, most of which is produced in South Pars and the south of the country, and about 70 percent of this gas is consumed in the northern half of the country; This means that we are responsible for transporting a huge volume of gas from the south to the north of the country.
He continued: “According to the latest statistics, 872 million cubic meters of gas are produced and transported in the country daily, which is an increase of 40 million cubic meters compared to last year. This huge volume of gas is transported throughout the country through an extensive network of 40,000 kilometers of pipelines, 94 pressure boosting stations and intermediate valves.”
