Extensive reforms in fuel consumption; daily reduction of 5 million liters of oil and gas

According to Energy Press, Ahmad Zeraatkar stated today (Monday, December 7) at the 4th International Conference and Exhibition on Energy Consumption and Efficiency Optimization, referring to the determining role of energy efficiency in energy security, economic competitiveness, and environmental quality of the country: The energy challenge in Iran is not limited to the issue of production. We are facing seasonal gas imbalances, high consumption intensity, waste of resources in the supply chain, and financial and environmental requirements, so continuing the past path and continuing the “production-oriented” approach is not only economically, but also technically and environmentally compatible.
He pointed to the country’s important achievements in managing flare gases and added: While according to the Seventh Development Plan, the Ministry of Oil was only required to collect 1.5 billion cubic meters of flare gas in the first year, with the implementation of extensive projects, this figure has reached 3.3 billion cubic meters.
The Deputy Planning Minister of the Ministry of Oil announced the signing of 12 major contracts for the collection of flare gases and said: By the end of 1405, more than 3 billion cubic meters of flare gases will enter the production cycle, which in addition to reducing pollution, will create millions of dollars in income and sustainable food for the petrochemical industry.
Reforming the fuel consumption structure and blocking the smuggling route
Explaining the extensive reforms in the transportation sector, the agricultural worker said: Price reforms in the mining, heavy transportation, and self-sufficient power plants sectors have reduced oil and gas consumption by 5 million liters per day.
He added: By making the product distribution chain smart, it became possible to identify 66,000 invalid activity licenses and more than 2,000 smuggled fuel cards.
The Deputy Planning Minister of the Ministry of Oil also listed the dual-fueling of 8,000 vehicles, the production of 55,000 gas-based vehicles, the replacement of 14,000 worn-out tanks, and the replacement of 20,000 electric motorcycles as among the programs currently being implemented.
