Exploitation of the first well of the infill project in South Pars
The CEO of South Pars Oil and Gas Company said: "The first well of the South Pars in-field drilling plan of 35 wells has been put into production with the aim of maintaining gas production from the field."

According to Energy Press, citing South Pars Oil and Gas Company, Touraj Dehghani said: With the completion of drilling operations and completion of well number 5 of the SPD12B platform in the Phase 12 block of the South Pars gas field and the connection of the well to the existing process facilities on the platform, the first well of the 35 infill well drilling plan in this joint field has been put into production.
He announced the daily production capacity of rich gas from this well as more than 2 million cubic meters and clarified: This measure was taken to compensate for the reduction in production due to the natural depletion of the reservoir at the SPD12B platform and to try to restore the platform’s gas production to the initial design capacity of the aforementioned platform.
Referring to the implementation of the drilling plan for 35 in-field wells in the South Pars Joint Field in four work packages, the CEO of South Pars Oil and Gas Company added: The drilling and completion of well number 5 of the SPD12B platform and the connection of the well to the production platform were carried out after several months of unremitting efforts by the specialists of Pars Oil and Gas Company and the partnership of PetroIran Development Company/Drilling Company International (DCI) in the form of the second package of the integrated engineering, procurement, drilling (EPD) contract using the DCI-2 offshore drilling rig.
