Expanding Iran-Turkmenistan oil cooperation in the field of oil and gas
The Iranian Oil Minister and the Turkmen Foreign Minister emphasized the deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of oil and gas and discussed areas for expanding cooperation.

According to Energy Press, Mohsen Paknejad met with Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Muradov on Tuesday (February 13), expressing hope that we can have good cooperation, and said: “In the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, constructive interaction with neighboring countries, especially Turkmenistan, as a friendly and brotherly country, has always been of great importance.” Stating that in the 14th government and after the inauguration of Masoud Pezhashkin, the development of economic relations, especially oil and gas, became a priority, he said: This issue was emphasized in the talks between the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the National Leader of Turkmenistan in the summer of this year (a trip to Ashgabat), as well as in the recent telephone conversation between the two officials.
Iran is Turkmenistan’s second closest partner after the country’s independence.
Regarding the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Muradov also stated in this meeting: Iran and Turkmenistan have always had good relations throughout history, and in recent years, relations between the two countries have taken on a new form, and we are eager to expand cooperation in various sectors.
He referred to the telephone conversation between the National Leader of Turkmenistan and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and added: “In this conversation, a number of issues for expanding cooperation from a strategic perspective were raised and discussed, including cooperation in the fields of electricity, gas, transportation, etc.”
