Energy consumption in Iran is twice the world rate

According to the report of Energy Press, Amin Kaveh, emphasizing that there is an optimization capacity equivalent to 3.5 million barrels of crude oil per day in the country, which can be realized by creating a mechanism, stated: Energy loss in the country is 500 million barrels annually. It is equivalent to crude oil, which with 50 dollar oil costs 25 billion dollars of energy loss in the country every year.
Regarding energy consumption in Iran, he said: The executive programs that have been implemented in the country in the last 20 years are mostly focused on energy supply and demand management has not been paid as much attention as it should be, and this has caused the high intensity of energy consumption in Iran. Let’s face the country.
This expert in the field of energy stated: Despite the fact that Iran is located in a temperate climate, it is one of the 10 countries with high energy consumption among other countries, so that according to the statistics of energy consumption in Iran, it is equivalent to Canada and Russia. It should be noted that these countries have a cold climate and Iran’s consumption should not be the same as them.
He added: The amount of energy consumption in Iran is estimated to be more than 2 times the world standard, and there is no other way to overcome this situation than to optimize consumption, although in recent years, energy consumption optimization has not been done as it should be, and this issue has caused many conflicts. in the field of energy.
Kaveh stated that in general, the cause of energy imbalance can be seen as the increasing growth of consumption, high wastage of energy, and the lack of production growth in line with the country’s needs, and said: One of the existing damages in the country’s energy sector is the decline in current production, including production from the gas field. South Pars in the coming years and the lack of development of fields, especially gas fields, is in proportion to the country’s reserves.
He stated that productivity growth provides the possibility to increase exports and foreign exchange earnings despite the fact that the production capacity remains constant and energy consumption is saved, which has a direct effect on the country’s economic growth. Optimizing energy consumption and increasing production efficiency with the aim of increasing harvest and preventing gas wastage in transmission lines, preventing the burning of associated gases and other such things, all of these things can help increase productivity.
