Electric taxis on the way to Tehran

According to Energy Press, in the past years there were deficiencies in Tehran’s public transportation and the municipal officials at the time were trying to create a better situation in Tehran’s public transportation, but this trend is improving between 2017 and 2021 instead of progressing and continuing slowly. With the beginning of the current period of urban management, Tehran got a new life; By allocating half of the budget of Tehran Municipality to public transportation in two consecutive years, Tehran City Council provided the basis for the development and improvement of this area, and Tehran Municipality rolled up its sleeves to make up for the delays.
But in addition to the opening of 19 metro stations, the construction of lines 8, 9, 10, the renovation of more than 800 buses, the overhaul of 428 worn-out buses, Tehran Municipality concluded a historic contract with the Chinese, which, while completing one of the measures left on the ground from In 2015, based on the contract to receive 630 wagons for the metro, which was later increased to 791, 2,500 12-meter buses, 25,000 electric sedan taxis, 2,500 SUV taxis, 10,000 vans and 150,000 Buy an electric motorcycle with China’s financial support.
Along with the big step taken by Tehran municipality by concluding the mentioned contract, the results of which will be realized gradually this year with the cooperation and support of the government, other electric taxis are also going to be provided to Tehran through the Ministry of Safety.
The special representative of the Minister of Security in the field of development of electric cars also stated that the new program of the Ministry of Security for the production and import of electric cars will last up to two years or even 3 years, stating: 100 thousand taxis, 20 thousand private cars, 4 1,000 electric buses and 400,000 electric motorcycles are the objectives of the Ministry of Security for the first phase of electrification in the country.
