Doubling of drilling rigs in South Pars; gas extraction capacity strengthened
The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company announced a more than doubling of the number of drilling rigs deployed in the South Pars joint field and stated: "With the expansion of the drilling fleet and the increase in the number of rigs to 10, the trend of increasing the country's gas extraction capacity has been significantly strengthened."

According to Energy Press, citing Pars Oil and Gas Company, Touraj Dehghani, on Monday (January 6) on the sidelines of the Minister of Oil’s visit to the SPD13A platform in the Persian Gulf and the South Pars Phase 14 refinery, referred to the recording of an unprecedented record in the country’s gas production, saying: “In South Pars, for the first time, a record of daily gas extraction of 725 million cubic meters has been recorded thanks to the efforts of the employees of this complex; a number whose realization seemed unbelievable until now.” Stating that Pars Oil and Gas Company’s approach is to focus on sustainable gas extraction, he added: “Given the severity of the energy imbalance, we tried to activate capacities that would have the greatest impact in the shortest time. In this regard, more than 7 million cubic meters have been added to the country’s sustainable gas production from our actions in Phase 13; a figure that is considered equivalent to the development of a medium-sized gas field under normal conditions.”
