Diversification in the downstream of propylene is needed by the country

According to Energy Press, Hasan Abbaszadeh visited Petropardis Sina’s PDH/PP project this morning, pointing out that a lot of propane is currently being exported, which is raw material, and stated: Propylene production by implementing PDH/PP projects (converting propane to propylene and polypropylene). Appreciating the investor of this project, who, in addition to propylene and polypropylene, has also considered an acrylonitrile (ACN) production unit, he added: Currently, less than one million tons of polypropylene is produced in the country.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company pointed out that the production of ACN causes diversification in the downstream of propylene, which is the need of the country, and emphasized: All PDH/PP projects must take a part of the produced polypropylene to the production of ACN.
Announcing the readiness of the National Petrochemical Industries Company to support this project in the required sectors, Abbaszadeh said: the issue of providing feed for this project has been resolved and negotiations for providing the required water are also underway.
