Discovery of a new gas field near Khangiran

According to Energy Press, although the National Gas Company’s priority is to manage consumption and save on gas consumption, the price of gas is currently low due to the high costs of producing, extracting, and transporting it, and gas consumption increases sharply, especially in winter.
In such a way that gas consumption is 860 to 870 million cubic meters of gas per day, meaning that more than 10 cubic meters of gas are extracted per capita per day.
At the same time, new gas reservoirs have been discovered in the country, which is a source of joy and pride, but at the same time we should not forget about gas consumption management. In the past month, with the announcement of Oil Minister Paknejd, the large Pazan gas field was discovered in the southwest of Fars province and in the north of Bushehr province, with proven reserves of at least 29 trillion cubic feet of gas, which, of course, has not yet reached the exploitation stage.
Also, according to Yahya Faizi, CEO of Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refinery in Khankiran-Sarax, a new gas field called Toos has been discovered 40 kilometers from Khankiran gas field, with a daily gas volume of 3 million cubic meters, which, according to him, will be supplied by the end of this year with the help of gas feed from Shahid Hasheminejad Refinery and can be added to the northeastern gas network in the winter.
Faizi also said: Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refinery in Khankiran-Sarax reached 58 million cubic meters per day during its peak production season, and this gas is injected into the northeastern network of the country. This gas that is produced is purified in two sections for very sour gases.
According to him, the sourest gas in the country is located in Khanghiran, which has a very high level of hydrogen sulfide at 3600 ppm (3.6 percent), which is a very dangerous and toxic gas. However, with the efforts of engineers, the sour gas is purified and converted into sweet gas or methane, which enters the nationwide network in the northeast of the country and supplies the provinces of North Khorasan, Razavi, South and Golestan. These gases are extracted from the Mozurdan reservoir in the Khanghiran Sarakhs region. According to Faizi, gas is also stored in the Shurijeh B reservoir, where in the first 8 months of the year, when the weather is warmer, we store 10 million cubic meters of gas daily in underground tanks with the help of very powerful compressors, and in the winter and cold months of the year, when gas consumption in the country increases, we extract 20 million cubic meters from this reservoir daily so that we do not experience a drop in gas pressure in the northeast of the country.
