Details of transferring fuel quota to a bank card
A pilot plan to transfer fuel quotas from fuel cards to bank cards was launched yesterday; the plan was initially implemented on a limited, pilot basis at one of the gas stations and is set to be gradually expanded after a thorough review of possible issues.

According to Energy Press, according to the announcement of the officials, the aim of this plan is to facilitate the refueling process, increase the transparency of distribution, reduce fuel smuggling, and also gradually eliminate emergency cards at the stations. However, all the authorities emphasize that this plan is experimental and until it is finalized, the fuel cards at the stations will remain active.
According to Abbas Basfa, Director of the Smart Fuel System, with the implementation of this plan, refueling will not be limited to fuel cards and people can receive their quota through a bank card, mobile application, or even temporary codes (tokens). This variety of refueling tools in the experimental phase will help to design the final model taking into account the needs of different groups, including people who do not have access to smartphones.
In the technical and security sector, the implementation of the plan requires coordination between institutions such as the Passive Defense Organization, the AFTA Center, and the Central Bank. Officials say that the sooner these coordinations are made, the sooner the possibility of nationwide expansion of the plan will be provided.
From a legislative perspective, this project was initiated based on clauses of the 1404 budget law, and the parliament has mandated the government to complete the pilot phase of the plan by the end of July this year. After that, if the initial implementation is successful, the infrastructure will be provided for nationwide implementation.
