Deputy Oil Minister: Full preparation to get through winter with new gas consumption pattern
Saeed Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, announced at the third winter fuel coordination meeting that plans to save and replace inefficient heaters have entered the implementation phase, and the new pattern of domestic gas consumption with a justice-oriented approach will pave the way for reducing consumption and supporting low-income groups.

According to Energy Press, Saeed Tavakoli, in the third winter fuel coordination meeting held via video conference with the presence of staff managers and CEOs of provincial gas companies, announced these records as an indication of the country’s high readiness to get through the upcoming winter and stated: “Also, the gas savings certificate plan and the replacement of high-efficiency heaters approved by the Economic Council have also reached the implementation stage this year, and these plans play an important role in improving energy efficiency and reducing gas consumption.” He described the new domestic gas consumption pattern as a justice-oriented and multidimensional approach to consumption management and reminded: Justice in gas tariff setting and consumption management can only be achieved by carefully monitoring subscribers, analyzing consumption data, and utilizing the capacity of utility companies.” Tavakoli, appreciating the efforts made in the technical, cultural, and information technology fields, added: Based on the gas price announced in October, 94 percent of residential units have paid a gas price of less than 50,000 Tomans, which indicates the effectiveness of the tariff setting in the first and second steps.
The Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs announced: The new domestic gas consumption model is designed with the aim of achieving justice so that high-consumption subscribers pay in proportion to their actual pattern.
Regarding the recent resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, he noted: This resolution is not limited to tariff reform and includes eight key clauses, including consumption management in government buildings, which shows that the government has initiated the implementation of optimization with this decision and has demonstrated a justice-oriented approach in practice.
