Construction of electric vehicle charging stations in Iran

According to Energy Press, recently the discussion of importing electric cars to the country has become very hot, and in the first step, it was decided to use electric taxis in the city of Tehran. Now we are witnessing the registration of electric cars imported into the country, and in the first step, 7 types of cars will be released to the market.

Electric vehicle charging
On average, electric cars travel a distance of 400-500 kilometers per charge. There are 2 main ways to charge electric cars, one of which is to use public electric charging stations that are subject to fast charging and usually charge the electric car completely within 30 to 40 minutes. Another way is to use household electricity, which of course takes many hours. Of course, in many countries, in places such as public parking lots or office centers, the ability to charge cars while they are parked is running.

Consumption and charging rate of electric cars
In general, most electric cars imported to Iran have a battery capacity of 35 to 72 kilowatt hours, which at the rate of 547 tomans per kilowatt hour costs about 19 thousand tomans for a car with a battery capacity of 35 kilowatts.

It is expected that according to the planning of the amount of imported electric cars, almost 1% of the country’s electricity consumption will be allocated to charging these cars.

Electric vehicle charging stations
In most countries of the world, including Iran, we see the development of electric car charging stations. Many centers have been built in Iran, especially in Tehran, including the 15 centers that were previously mentioned in the reports, and by the end of the year, there will be several thousand stations throughout the country.

According to the announcement of Transport and Traffic Organization of Tehran Municipality, the location of charging stations for electric cars are: Taleghani parking lot, District 7, Nahjul Balagha Park, District 2, Amir Kabir Parking Lot, District 14, Hafez Parking Lot, District 6, Saadi Parking Lot, District 12, Andisheh Parking Lot, District 7, Bostan Ab and Atash District 3, Municipality District 9, Velayat Park, District 19, Yas Fatemi Park, District 4, Tarebar Bayhaqi District 6, Azadi Square, District 9, Transport and Traffic Deputy District 6, International Exhibition and Social Deputy District 8.

Mapna company in cooperation with Tehran Municipality is responsible for the production of these stations, which has also displayed the built electric car charging centers on a national map on a website related to automobiles.
