Completion of major repairs at Shazand Refinery

According to Energy Press, citing Imam Khomeini Oil Refining Company (RA) Shazand, Navid Ghorbani stated that the company’s overhaul began on October 12 of this year and stated: “Given the reduced performance and activity of the catalysts of this unit, the operation of overhauling, unloading and charging the reactor catalysts began on October of this year and lasted until November 12.” He stated that 755 tons of new and domestically produced catalysts were loaded into five reactors in this overhaul, and stated: “In this operation, all the equipment and instruments of the unit, such as reactors, furnaces, towers, air fans, electrical appliances and precision instruments, were inspected and replaced and repaired if necessary, and after the final inspection and preparation of the unit, it was put into production with maximum capacity.” The head of Area 5 of Shazand Oil Refinery continued: “Given the complex conditions and nitrogen atmosphere, the operation of unloading and charging the reactor catalysts was carried out by relying on domestic power and cooperation with various domestic departments, without the presence of foreign forces.” Ghorbani, pointing out that the refining units in Area 5 are a subsidiary of the operating operations, added: These units include HPU, RCD, PSA sections, and gas fuel supply units for the company’s furnaces and the purification of sour or amine gases. He stated: In the RCD unit, the heavy oil cut, the residual distillation residue in the atmosphere and vacuum, which cannot be supplied to the consumer market, is received and, after hydrotreating operations that include desulfurization, nitrogen removal, olefin saturation, and absorption of metal compounds, is converted into products such as diesel, kerosene, heavy oil, and refined TR residue, which is allocated to the production of gasoline, liquefied gas, and propylene in the RFCC unit.
