China’s decisive response to the US: Oil purchases from Iran and Russia continue

In response to US calls to stop buying oil from Iran and Russia, China's Foreign Ministry stressed that Beijing will not change its energy policy under external pressure.
According to Energy Press, China’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement rejecting repeated US calls for Beijing to stop buying oil from Iran and Russia, saying that China will ensure energy supply in line with its national interests.
The statement said: “China will always ensure its energy supply in a way that is in line with our national interests. Coercion and pressure will not achieve any results. China will resolutely defend its sovereignty, security and development interests.”
US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant also noted in a comment on the talks in this regard that “the Chinese side takes its sovereignty very seriously regarding the purchase of Russian oil.”
