Artificial Intelligence at the Service of Petrochemicals; Human-Centered Digital Transformation
The Director of Planning and Development of the National Petrochemical Industries Company emphasized the need to redefine governance structures and institutions to achieve digital governance, saying: "To achieve digital transformation, a digital-centric mindset must be institutionalized."

According to Shana reporter, Hossein Alimurad today (Monday, October 18) at the event “Assessing the Digital Maturity of Industries and Businesses in the Seventh Development Plan”, referring to the extensive changes in the field of technology and the necessity of digital transformation in the country’s industries, stated: The structure of governing institutions must be redefined in order to institutionalize a digital-oriented mentality.
Stating that digital transformation brings challenges in addition to opportunities, he added: The first challenge is the fair distribution of digital achievements at the level of society so that the entire country and its strata benefit from it. The second challenge is the economic and environmental consequences of this transformation, and the third and perhaps the most important challenge is maintaining the centrality of humans in the age of artificial intelligence. If technology goes beyond human control, it will have irreparable consequences.
Artificial intelligence should be the basis for digital development in the industry
The Planning and Development Manager of the National Petrochemical Industries Company, referring to the basic technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, stated: Key technologies in this direction, such as artificial intelligence and computer technologies, should be the basis for digital development in the petrochemical industry.
Stating that the National Petrochemical Industries Company has defined four main infrastructures for digital transformation, Alimurad said: Accurate measurement equipment, communication systems between equipment, control protocols, and finally the integration of artificial intelligence to optimize the process are necessary infrastructures in the petrochemical industry. The first three items currently exist in petrochemical complexes, but the fourth item requires joint development and cooperation between the petrochemical industry and knowledge-based centers.
