Announcement of the Ministry of Oil’s Technology Development Roadmap; Complementing the Comprehensive Research and Innovation System

According to Energy Press, Mehdi Ahmad Khanbeigi stated that the announcement of the Ministry of Petroleum’s Technology Development Roadmap by Omid Shakeri, Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Engineering, Research and Technology, is a completion of the chain of grand planning in the field of research and technology. He stated: “With the announcement of the Ministry of Petroleum’s comprehensive research and technology system in 2020, the policymaking framework was drawn, and now this roadmap, as the final executive and operational link, precisely and transparently specifies the path forward.” Emphasizing the need to respond to the key demands of the country’s scientific and technological community, he added: “One of the most important continuous requests from universities and knowledge-based companies was to clearly and concisely announce the technological needs of the Ministry of Petroleum. Fortunately, this roadmap, beyond stating general titles, includes precise topics of research and technology development projects and clearly outlines the priorities of the oil industry for technology developers.”
