An increase of 1,000 kilometers of oil transmission lines by September

An increase of 1,000 kilometers of oil transmission lines by September
The National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company, as the executive arm of the refining industry, is always in a state of constant flux, just like the flow of oil, gas, and petroleum products production in our country; various projects are completed one after another and new ones are started. The company is simultaneously working on several large and small projects, some of which, like the Bandar Abbas-Rafsanjan pipeline, are in their final stages.

According to Energy Press, citing Mashal Weekly, by implementing such projects, 1,000 kilometers of Iranian oil and petroleum product pipelines will be put into operation by the end of the first half of this year, and this will not only increase the amount of oil fluid transported, but also play an effective role in making the transmission cycle more balanced. Therefore, with the official operation of this amount of new transmission lines, the length of the country’s oil and petroleum product transmission network will reach more than 15,000 kilometers. Mohammad Meshkinfam, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company, has presented a report on the company’s ongoing projects in the field of constructing transmission lines, which follows.
Many of the executive commitments and projects planned for the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company are in line with the Ministry of Oil’s major goals and strategic plans, such as eliminating the imbalance of the country’s petroleum products and distributing them without interruption and completely, as can be seen in the effort to deliver the Bandar Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan pipeline as soon as possible; a pipeline whose launch is crucial for the country’s transmission network.
Product transfer from Bandar Abbas to the heart of the country
The Bandar Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan pipeline is a multi-section oil product transfer project. This pipeline is 460 kilometers long and 26 inches in diameter from the Bandar Abbas pumping station to the Rafsanjan terminal. Its construction has been implemented in four areas and has a capacity to transfer 300,000 barrels (equivalent to 48 million liters per day) of products produced by the Bandar Abbas and Setareh Khalij Persian Gulf refineries to the north of the country.
The construction of the new Bandar Abbas-Sirjan-Rafsanjan pipeline was put on the agenda in 2019 to cover the transfer capacity of the two refineries of Bandar Abbas and Setareh Khalij Fars to destinations in the northern half of the country. In addition to three pumping stations in Bandar Abbas, Qutbabad and Mehr Aran, this project has two terminals in Sirjan and Rafsanjan. The investment made in this project is more than 120 trillion rials and its implementation will prevent 1,200 to 1,500 fuel trucks from traveling on transportation routes daily. This project will also pave the way for economic savings and an increase in the safety factor of product transfer in the country and an increase in the hubs of the transfer industry in the country.
Meshkinfam, announcing that the construction of more than 1,000 kilometers of pipelines is on the agenda and that the 460-kilometer Bandar Abbas-Rafsanjan pipeline project is in its final stages, says: In December last year, at the peak of consumption and product imbalance, we were able to transfer nearly 100,000 barrels of petroleum products from Bandar Abbas to the center of the country.
He considers the completion and final operation of this pipeline a good opening in the process of product transfer in the country and states: This project is being completed and we expect that by Shahrivar this year (1404), the current capacity of 100,000 barrels will be increased to the capacity ceiling, i.e. 300,000 barrels.
Referring to the strategic 37-kilometer pipeline branching from the Gore-Jask pipeline to the Bandar Abbas refinery to supply feed to the refinery, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company stated: “Previously, feed was supplied via a sea vessel, and we decided to implement a land pipeline, and with this pipeline, feed was also supplied to the Bandar Abbas refinery.”
