Amendment of the resolution to cancel tourist visas for Iran and Tajikistan

According to Energy Press, it was announced late last year that Tajikistan plans to cancel its tourist visa for Iranians. However, this was not possible despite the agreements of both sides, until August 10, 2024, the cancellation of visas between the two countries took effect. Now Iranian travelers can travel from Tehran to Dushanbe within a month without getting a visa or paying for a visa.
But there is a problem. To travel to Tajikistan, there are flights from Tehran and Mashhad. So what is the duty of passengers who travel from Mashhad to Dushanbe city? In this regard, the Tajik ambassador explained to Mehr reporter on the sidelines of the ceremony for the start of visa-free travel and a joint meeting between tourism activists of the two countries, which was held at the Tajik Embassy in Iran: the one who signed the approval letter instead of writing the visa cancellation between Iran and Tajikistan was done, the writing was done between Tehran and Dushanbe. Now there is a flight from Mashhad to Dushanbe, and passengers who go from Mashhad to Dushanbe must obtain a visa, but if they come from Tehran to Dushanbe, they do not require a visa. This was a mistake. But the friends promised that when the new government comes into office, this amendment will be done so that travelers from any city going to Dushanbe do not need to get a visa.
