Actions of the Parliament’s Energy Commission in Resolving the Electricity and Gas Imbalance

According to Energy Press, Musa Ahmadi, the head of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, presented a report on the performance of the Energy Commission of the 12th Parliament at the Energy Commission meeting held on Sunday afternoon, January 6, 1403, which was attended by the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Ministers of Oil and Energy. He said: “Since its inception, the Energy Commission has formulated policies and formed five specialized committees to implement them, each of which is responsible for drafting and revising laws and formulating a monthly monitoring program, with an emphasis on legal supervision and cooperation with relevant ministries and organizations such as the Ministries of Oil and Energy and other relevant institutions.” He added: “The meetings of these commissions are held regularly and their heads present relevant reports on a monthly basis.” In order to eliminate the imbalance of electricity and gas and supply fuel to power plants during the cold season, in accordance with the vision of the Speaker of the Parliament, measures were taken, including holding a joint meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and his deputies at the commission and the location of the Ministry of Petroleum and receiving a report on the latest actions of this ministry, reviewing the latest status of fuel supply to different parts of the country and power plant reservoirs during the cold season, meeting with the Minister of Energy and receiving the latest report on blackouts and solutions to overcome them.
