According to Energy Press, Hadi Gol Babaei, Vice President of Persian Gulf Star Refinery, stated: Persian Gulf Star Refinery is the largest gas condensate refinery in the world, and currently this refinery with a capacity of 450,000 barrels per day is considered one of the largest refineries in the country. .

Regarding the plans to increase the production capacity and improve the quality of this refinery, stating that various projects are being planned and implemented, he said: The production capacity of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery is now an average of 40 million liters of gasoline and 15 million liters of diesel per day. This amount has turned Persian Gulf Star Oil Refinery into one of the main fuel producers in the country.

Gol Babaei continued: In the past, our main capacity was 360,000 barrels per day, which has reached 450,000 barrels per day with the plans to increase the capacity of Persian Gulf Star Refining Company. In addition, to stabilize this volume of production, several projects have been carried out in the Persian Gulf Star Refinery.

Referring to the Persian Gulf Star Refinery’s focus on oil product quality improvement projects, he explained: The latest project that the Persian Gulf Star Refinery is currently focusing on is the ammonia production plan with a capacity of about 450,000 tons per year.

Gol Babaei considered the ammonia produced in the Persian Gulf Star refinery to be different from other domestic producers and stated: The difference between the ammonia produced by the Persian Gulf Star Refinery and others is that the petrochemicals that produce ammonia convert it into syngas by converting hydrocarbons and through In ammonia production reactors, they obtain the final product, which is called gray ammonia; But the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company’s product is green ammonia type; In the Persian Gulf Star Refinery, ammonia is produced from excess hydrogen in the refinery, which is obtained through the reforming process in the production of gasoline.
