Smart industrial gas supply system unveiled / Licensing process becomes offline
The Director of Information and Communications Technology of the National Iranian Gas Company said: The gas supply system for industrial applicants has made the process of obtaining permits and supplying gas to industrial units transparent, agile, and secure.

According to Energy Press, citing the National Iranian Gas Company, Seyyed Mohammad Saraji stated on Monday (March 24) at the unveiling ceremony of the gas supply service for industrial applicants: Applicants for the construction or development of industrial units had previously had to go through numerous steps in correspondence and in person to register their application and obtain the relevant permits, which required time and repeated follow-ups.

He added: With the launch of this system, the applicant will enter the process through the land unit window and can follow up on all the required permits, including gas supply, in an integrated and offline manner; an action that is considered an important step in facilitating the business environment and accelerating service provision to the industrial sector.

Referring to the technical infrastructure of this project, the Director of Information and Communication Technology of the National Iranian Gas Company said: “The collection of spatial data in provincial gas companies and operational areas was carried out in the past years with the efforts of colleagues, and this data was uploaded in the form of standard spatial formats into the comprehensive spatial information system of the National Iranian Gas Company (IGN).

Data integration and standardization

Saraji stated that data integration and standardization are the main features of this system that allowed us to overcome the dispersion of information and lead us to data coherence and unity, and continued: The system architecture is designed in a service-oriented manner to provide the possibility of exchanging data with other systems without disruption, with agility.

Emphasizing the importance of information security in this project, he stated: “Security considerations were taken into account from the design stage, and in recent tests, the system was able to provide acceptable performance in terms of security indicators.” The integrated gas network analysis system (SGN) has also been added to this platform, which facilitates and accelerates design processes for experts through data exchange.

Stating that moving towards digital transformation is an organizational task, the Director of Information and Communication Technology of the National Iranian Gas Company said: We are at the beginning of the path of digital transformation and the launch of these systems is one of the first steps on this path. The goal is to carry out work processes in a transparent, safe and agile manner, and to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to monitor and control various stages.
