According to Energy Press, citing Pars Oil and Gas Company, Keyvan Tarighati announced: The loading operation of the first jacket (four-legged) of the Farzad Bay gas field development project was successfully completed today (Monday, February 17), with a total weight of 2,600 tons and a height of 63 meters, at the Valiasr Yard of the Iranian Offshore Installation Company located in Khorramshahr.
Stating that this huge steel structure was built by relying on the expertise of the National Iranian Oil Company, Pars Oil and Gas Company, with Petropars Company as the contractor and the Iranian Offshore Installation Company as the subcontractor, he added: The process of constructing the WHP1 jacket was carried out over a period of 14 months and in accordance with the standards of the offshore industry.
Referring to the special feature of the loading operation of this structure, the executor of the Farzad Joint Field Development Project said: This operation was carried out for the first time using the “lift and slide” method and using hydraulic jacks that were previously used to load platforms, and the jacket was transferred from the pier to the Abuzar 110 barge.
According to Tariqati, the choice of this method was made after conducting detailed engineering studies and a thorough review of the implementation procedures, taking into account the weight, dimensions of the structure, and operating conditions.
