The multi-faceted role of the torch gas collection project in the country’s economy

According to Energy Press, Ismail Habibi Shirajini stated today (Wednesday, January 25th) at a meeting to review the progress of flame gas collection plans of the National Oil and Gas Company of South, while appreciating the oil industry workers and staff of National Oil and Gas Company of South that: “The flame gas collection is one of the most important efficiency in the country, and can be a significant step towards solving one of biggest efficiency challenges in the energy supply.”
He further referred to concept of “efficiency domino” in energy supply chain, adding that efficiency not limited to a single sector, but has numerous examples from energy production to and consumption, each affecting the other, and if one is weak, it exacerbates the problems of the others. Unutilized capacities for energy
The Deputy Director of Efficiency the National Efficiency Organization of Iran, to the challenges in the production sector stated: “In the oil production, there are two fundamental issues;, the issue of flame gases, which effective actions are fortunately being taken and second, the recovery rate of reservoirs, which is behind global averages
Habibi Shirajini, emphasizing that neglecting to increase recovery rates can consuming future resources to meet today’s needs, continued: “After production, we also face challenges in the energy conversion section, as the country’s power plant efficiency is less than 40%, while many countries around the world achieve efficiencies of 55% and even higher. This indicates that there is a significant potential for efficiency improvement in this sector.”
He also mentioned losses in the energy transmission and distribution network, stating: “The country’s electricity network losses are over 10%, and even this figure is a conservative estimate. In the consumption section, the country’s energy intensity is not in a good situation, and Iran consumes more than three times the global average energy per unit of gross domestic product.”
