Cloud fertilization and water importation put on the agenda of the Ministry of Energy
The Minister of Energy announced that the 35 percent water waste figure is not accurate and that leak-proofing measures have resulted in a significant reduction.

According to Energy Press, Abbas Aliabadi, Minister of Energy, told reporters on the sidelines of the International Exhibition of Iranian Water Industry: “The media exaggerates the issue of water waste in the network, and figures such as 35 percent water waste do not exist.”
He added: “Appropriate measures have been taken to stop leaks, and we have witnessed a significant reduction in water waste, especially in the country’s major cities, in recent years.”
In response to a question about the Lar Dam leak, the Minister of Energy said: “This dam was built before the revolution and has a leak. We want to transfer the water that leaks from the dam’s reservoir and return it to Tehran’s water supply cycle.”
Aliabadi stated that cloud fertilization is on the agenda and said: “First, there must be a cloud for fertilization, and there are traditional methods for cloud fertilization that we use, and recently new cases and methods have been proposed that we welcome, while traditional methods for cloud fertilization can be between 5 and 15 percent effective.”
